FIRE EMERGENCY PROCEDURE
If you feel there is an emergency, please dial 911 immediately.
Should an alarm sound in the building, please locate the nearest stairwell, follow the exit signs to the ground floor and leave the building.
The elevators may lock down depending on the location and type of emergency. We strongly advise that you do not attempt to utilize the elevators when the building alarm is sounding.
If you are unable to make your way down the stairs to the ground level, we suggest remaining inside the stairwell which is a designated ‘place of refuge’.
Once the emergency has passed and the building is deemed safe for re-entry, first responders will announce an ‘all clear’ over the intercom system. If you remained inside the stairwell, you will have 5 minutes after the system is reset to enter back into the hallway.
After the building has been given the ‘all clear’, first responders and the staff will walk the stairwells from the 25th floor down to check for anyone that may have remained in the stairwell.
If you are certain that you are not physically able to safely exit the building through the stairwell, please contact the office IMMEDIATELY so that we can record individuals that may need additional assistance during emergency.
Evacuation maps are posted near every elevator on each floor. We strongly encourage you to become familiar with the map and evacuation process. Attached is a map of the residential hallway and location of the 2 stairwells.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please reach out to the office so we can further assist you.
